PSD2 developer portal
Problem & challenge
To comply with new EU law, Knab were required to give service providers, such as other banks and external parties, access to customer accounts and Knabs banking environment. With the users consent this would enable information to be given about an account, a bank balance and for payments to be made.
The project was twofold and I needed to create the following:
1). A portal for developers (from third parties) to be able to access Knab APIs
2). A new consent flow for our users to give consent to third party applications to access their information.
Approach & method
Developer portal:
I carried out desk research and competitor analysis to look at how other companies provide their APIs
I created a user flow and initial sketches, which I discussed and shared with stakeholders
UI design and creation of high-fidelity designs for developers
Consent flow:
I mapped out the new/ideal user journey and happy flow, based on legal requirements from the PSD2 initiative (in a workshop with the legal team and stakeholders involved)
Created a prototype to replicate the new proposed consent flow
User tested the new flow and gathered insights on the new stages in user journey.
